In 1932, Konosuke Matsushita, the founder of Matsushita Electric, proclaimed the basic business policy of the company, which is based on our corporate mission of "peace and prosperity for mankind."
Since then, this policy has been woven into the company's basic principle which states: "Through our industrial activities, we strive to foster progress, to promote the general welfare of society and to devote ourselves to furthering the development of world culture."
Matsushita has steadfastly promoted all of its business activities under this principle and we now conduct operations on a worldwide scale.
In recent times, as international awareness of Japanese accomplishments has grown, so too have the world's expectations regarding Japan's global role.
Realizing that further internationalization of Japan is an urgent task, Matsushita Electric has decided to establish The Matsushita International Foundation as a major event in the 70th anniversary celebration of the company.
The purpose of this foundation will be to contribute to the advancement of international society by promoting international understanding and by developing personnel capable of promoting international understanding. To achieve these goals, the foundation will provide funds for related studies and activities.
We sincerely encourage your support and active cooperation in this venture.
